Character BlogsWe're doing some character blogs for www.chessoc.com Each lead cast member is going to talk about their character while rehearsal footage is cut between. What I need from you lovely people are random questions for each characterexample: What is Molokov's favorite kind of cheese? So send me your questions for one or all of the following, followed by your name. Florence Anatoly Freddie Molokov Walter Svetlana Arbiter |

questions can be serious too.

Fun!
Let's see... Svetlana - what do you hope to gain by coming to Bangkok (or Budapest, as the case may be) to see your estranged husband? Walter - How long did you know that there was no chance Florence would see her father again? Clearly greater things are at stake - but are you sorry you used her as a means to an end? Molokov - same question. Anatoly - Whether you win or lose the final game of the match, you will return to the Soviet Union. Why? Is it for Florence's father? To stop hurting your friends and family back home? Or some other reason? I'll think of more later |

I need more! And I prefer the questions don't give away serious plot details. These will be up mid October before we open!!!

For Anatoly:
Seriously, what's with all the yogurt? Also - what Soviet bloc chess players do you know? Who are you close to? What's your favorite opening and what are your best and worst game? Who'd you beat to become champion (probably Karpov)? What was that match like? For Walter (if that is your real name): How exactly do you get a shoe ad for a chess champion? Also, have you ever sold watches on Broadway? For Molokov: So what exactly were you doing in Budapest? Also, are you actually married? Also, same question about the yogurt. For Freddie: Have you ever met Bobby Fischer? If so, how did you get along? What's your favorite opening, and what are your best and worst game? Who'd you beat to get to this match and what was that match like? Have you ever been disqualified from a match or lost a game due to a penalty? For Florence: Seriously, was Freddie always like this? Are you two still involved romantically? If not, what broke it off, and what is it like working together now? |

Ok I'm sorry. I wasn't really clear but I'll try to rephrase these as best as possible. These are questions for the actors about the character. so it'd be like "So John Doe....what's the hardest thing about learning a Russian accent"

Re: Character Blogs
Hi, are you the stage manager or general manager of your theater company? If you are, I was wondering if you could record either by VHS/ DVD+-R or audio only your perfromers maybe on opening night or a few days after doing the show through a cassette record on the sound booth. I like chess and I have only seen one version which was like an inbetween hybrid script. I live in Van Nuys, CA and I can pay you up to $25 for a copy of your production. If the actors have signed "you are being filmed" papers, maybe you can give me a copy of your production legally? I take public transit so I cannot make it all the way down to orange county to see your production. |
