I was just wondering...i'm seeing the show in 2 weeks...in Washington D.C. and for lack of better words...how good is the cast? (i believe its the touring cast). Any highlights to look forward to? I'm quite used to the dvd so any fun highlights or things to look out for I'd love to know! thanks guys!

It's been over a year since I've seen the Tour and I think the cast by now is different. It's somewhat different from the video. Have you seen it live before?

I just went to see CATS in February (I live in Massachusetts), and I think the cast would probably be the same. I thought it was a really good show; the cast was really good. Last time I went to see it the men who played The Rum Tum Tugger and Munkastrap weren't the greatest singers and it kind of upset me.
This time they were all pretty great at singing. The dancing was changed up a bit for the normal, and It seemed that a couple of songs were a bit longer or just different. I think the changed stuff up a bit because it's the 25th anniversary tour. Also this time the cast walked through the audience a lot. Last time I went to see the show they didn't walk through at all. I'm not sure if this was because it was a different theatre or if this is something new for this tour.
The women who played Grizabella (who's name I’m too lazy to look up at the moment) was amazing, at first when she came out I was thinking she had more of a voice for Sillabub but them once she got into it she was just amazing.
I also enjoyed Growltiger's Last Stand a lot more this time than last time. It could be because last time was the first time I'd ever seen it preformed but I never really listened to the song or anything so I think it was just put on much better.
Well overall it was a really good show and I hope you have a really great time : ) . Live is hard to compare to the DVD because they're both so great and so different, but I think if you've never seen it live you'll still enjoy it very much.

I saw it last month in Boston, and I was very impressed by the quality of the performances. It compared quite well with the performances I saw in London back in the day!
The cast are for the most part quite young, but great voices and some really talented dancers.
The guy playing Tumblebrutus was amazing, and Bombalurina, Gus and Grizabella all had very good voices.
The real stand-out for me was the woman playing Jellyorum/Griddlebone. She's never really been one of my favorite characters, but I loved her during this performance. Her voice during the Italian aria was amazing.
The stage was quite small and the set was not quite as big or realistic as I remembered from seeing Cats at the new London theatre, but it is a touring show after all so I guess it has to be that way, and once things started I forgot all about that!
The orchestra was good too. The last time I saw cats the guitar really dominated everything, but this time the music was a lot more mellow and understated, but in a good way.
When the whole cast sang together during the chorus parts it made me get goosebumps!
There was loads of audience interaction too, but I think that depends on the venue really.
The only thing I didn't like was all the laughing and squealing between numbers (like when the train falls down during Skimbleshanks they all laugh and squeal). This is just a personal thing, but for me it ruins the cat like quality of the performance. The 'serious' parts of the show were great, but some of the 'comedy' parts were a little overdone.
All in all though it was great, and the costumes and make up were stunning.
