As I *think* I posted before on the forum, we had an interesting situation with costumes . . . we already had all of the wigs from the Hartford Academy's production, and we had ordered the costumes from Broadway Costumes, but they sent us a different set than they had promised and what they sent us was really hideous! We got them the Monday of tech week, so there was no time to get another set, so we had to rework all of them and switch around unitards to make them look semi-presentable . . . there were some that were just AWFUL, so I wound up dying/coloring and fluffy-izing the Mungo/Rumple/Dem/Munk/Bomb and Skimble unitards. So yeh . . . they were pretty good for the most part, but some of them were darn fugly!

Can't wait for the rights to be released over here in the UK....won't be long now!

I love the make-up! Mungojerrie and Rumepelteazers' unitards are the best out of the entire bunch I think. The fluffies on several of the unitards lack a lot of texture. They're too smooth to create the Cats feel, but I bet your acting skills made up for those.

Ohhh! Neat costumes, looks like it was a lot of fun! My personnal favourites are the Tugger, Victoria and your Mungo costume! Hehe!

Who was in charge of the costumes? Did you all participate in making them? I think those are quite brilliant for fan-made costumes. ^^

Etcetera Kitten - there was a woman in charge of the costumes . . . she rented them from Broadway Costumes before seeing pictures of them and they were awful. The warmers were made of polyester and were not fuzzy at ALL and most of the unis were terrible and unfitting to their designated character. We wound up switching a lot of them, and making some of them work with the addition of new warmers (made by our costume woman) for EVERYONE in the cast, plus new fluffy tails (that I made for everyone, they had been braided cords from the costume company). Because I've been doing CATS costumes since I was 9, I volunteered to paint base unitards to replace the costumes we got that were REALLY bad - beforehand, Munk was black/white zebra striped, Mungo/Rumple were matching tiger-striped and leopard-spotted, Bomb was pink (what became the Sillabub costume, and thankfully worked for her), Dem was white, and Skimble had a psychadellic swirl-print. I had my full costume (uni, warmers, tail, collar) from Halloween in 7th grade, but added the shoulder fluffs, and added some more black dye and bolder hatching; then I dyed/hatched the other five unitards; I also did new warmers for Rumple and Skimble based on the Broadway ones, and new warmers/gloves for Bomb/Dem. Honestly the costumes were HORRIBLE before, but I think we were able to make them work! We just needed to be creative . . . switch out some of the collars (Bomb's was BLUE initially . . . others were like tacky flame-print collars LITERALLY from a pet store w/back-pack buckles connecting them) . . . and put in a LOT of effort! The costume woman pulled me aside after and told me we should've just built the show ourselves . . . probably would've looked AWESOME, with real textile dyes (we used RIT for time constraint purposes . . . it was in the costume shop, so I just used that), but whatever! The costumes were what they were and I liked em for the most part I can't wait to post production pix . . . the lighting is GORGEOUS!!

OH MY GOD I AM SOOOO JEALOUS!!! I JUST finished a production of CATS too except our costumes and wigs were HIDEOUS!!!!! They sent us a completly different set then promised... it was brutal!!! First of all they sent them late (the WEDNESDAY of Tech Week) and second of all they SUCKED!!! We spent sooo much money to rent them. Two of the teachers in chrage cried not to mention those of us that love Cats!!!! For those who had no idea what they were supposed to look like they were ok... but when you are playing Bombalurina and you KNOW you are supposed to be red and have the SEXIEST costume ever and your costume comes and you are a ZEBRA You cry!!!!!!!!! It was horrid!!!!!! But we made the best of it. I will open a new thread and post pictures soon.. once I catch up on all my missed school work from two weeks... epp!

I love a lot of the make-up designs. You did really well with the makeup. Sorry about your costume problems... that always sucks! They turned out alright though! This show looked like it would have been fun to see. Great!
