CATS on ConanI'm watching Conan right now and whoever this guest is has me in stitches.He's talking about how he went to see CATS when he was 13 and he's breaking into song, talking about the characters, talking about writing a letter to the cast...and he's SO passionate talking about it! PLEASE tell me that someone else has seen this...he's getting into a philisophical discussion with himself about jellicle cats...it's hilarious and creepy and fantastic all at once

"Late Night with Conan O'Brien" is a talk show (like Jay Leno and David Letterman). It comes on after Jay Leno: around 12:35am (PST) ^_^
I didn't see it! I haven't been watching Conan because I've been so tired around 8:00pm that I just pass out! I miss Conan too...who was the guest, Fila? Veel Liefs, Jemima

Conan! I love Conan. That show's responsible for the havoc wreaked by Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, right? (I keed, I keed!)
I'm really surprised they had someone who talked about it on there without being sarcastic. From what I remember, they don't seem to pass up a chance to poke fun at Cats. (Wasn't there an episode where, at one point, it has Conan up in the audience, wearing a Cats shirt, and pretending to cry while Memory played?)
But...dang...wow...are you sure this guy was being serious? Oh man, I'd love to have seen it. |

Conan crying is the best. He's wearing a pair of black fake cat ears that you can buy at the grocery store around Halloween time, and a black CATS shirt. One of the Big Logo ones! 
He's holding a CATS Playbill and crying..."Memory..." sniffle sniffle snort. Its the best. Only about 5 seconds though... Purrs, VTWC Hubby stores all the media stuff on his computer...once I get the Terra drive all figured out then I'll see what I can upload to our server. |

Maybe he was referring to a running joke Conan is doing about how he looks like Finland's president. 
Under president Halonen's leadership, apparently Finland's fisheries are producing more carp. Good lesson for Bush. You can never have too much carp. 
And apparently Finland is thrilled by Conan's attention. http://www.finlandforthought.net/?p=1072 He even said that he wants to do a show in Finland. Helsinki is the obvious location but Turku made a video and sent it to him to convince him to do the show in their city. What an odd video that was. 
I saw that show too. I think he said that the only cat to write back to him was Gus the Theater Cat. Maybe he was bringing up CATS because of Phantom's breaking its record run. |

Yes, that's the one. The final vote is this Sunday. One club here in Turku gave free entry to everyone who was dressed to look like Conan. I think they even videotaped it and sent to Conan.
And on topic, I just saw the episode of Conan. The guest was Mo Rocca. And he said he was an usher at some theater, saw CATS like 40 times, and started to dislike it. One thing that bothered me was that in the subtitles they wrote "Gelico" instead of Jellicle..

Oh, they did, they did...He showed it on the air. It was kind of scary-looking towards the end, with the bare-chested guys with American flag print ties on. But I thought it was funny. |

I just watched that show. I live about 25 kilometres from Turku. And I've been in that bar. And I hate it. It's always extremely full and mostly with the stupid kind of people. And I'm kinda disappointed, the they could've made a much better video. And the t-shirt, Turku Åbo, it's a swedish o, not a, and pronounced like normal o. In case anyone cares .
