Cats lyrics...& who sings each song?

I'm doing Cats this summer, and would like to start reviewing the lyrics before rehearsals. I have the OBC CD and the lyrics are in the booklet...but I have no idea who sings what line. Anyone know of a good site with the lyrics and the names of the characters who sing them?

Thanks. Very Happy
Nemi

I can't tell you exactly who sings exactly what (as it would take a very long post and it varies from show to show, really), but I can help you out with generics...

Invitation to the Jellicle Ball - Solos by Quaxo/Mistoffelees and/or Munkustrap

You can get all the character names for the lyrics on my website on this page:

hope that helps!! That's so cool that you're doing Cats! Who are you doing it with, like school or professional theatre or something?
thebeautyisClara

Thank you guys so much! I am doing it as a summer camp with a community theatre in my area...so I am guaranteed a part, but I just haven't decided which I'd like to go for...I'd like to look at the lyrics/parts first.

Thanks!!

Well, we'd all be more than happy to help you decide which part may be the most comfortable and suitable part for you if we were to know your vocal range, singing/dance ability (and acrobatic ability), along with your height and age (and the age range of all the cast-to-be, I suppose).

Hmm, lets's see. I'm 14, and the show is for ages 13 to 18. However, we are not only cast due to our talent, but according to how long we've been with the company and what kind of roles we've played in the past. I would say that I am up for more of a supporting role. (But, I will aim for any part! You never know!)

My range is alto to high soprano, and I generally sing high and mezzo with this company. I am 5 feet, 5 1/2 inches tall, and have an average build. I have blonde shoulder-length hair and blue eyes.

Dancing ability...hmm. I took ballet and jazz when I was younger, and am currently taking jazz again. I have danced a variety of genres with this company, as well as in school shows and such. I have solid technique and pick up dances rather quickly.

As for acrobatics, I am fairly flexible, and my younger brother (who's a gymnastics nut) is teaching me how to cartwheel, handstand, and do a split before auditions.

Any suggestions? Thanks!!
Nemi

Well, I'd personally say Demeter or Rumpleteazer may be a good character for you to shoot for.

Both have solos (though, Demeter has more), and both would be posatively fun roles to play. I think they'd be great ones to 'shoot' for.

However, if you're much better at singing than the dancing. Jellylorum/Griddlebone or Jennyanydots may better. They're both much older characters than Dem and Rumple, but they're the show's main two sopranos.

I was thinking about Demeter, and that's what my best friend said as well...I will definetly take it into consideration!

Thanks, Nemi! Very Happy
