CATS inspired jewelry- semi OT

I wasn't sure whether to post this on the fanworks board or not, so I thought I'd try here.

I have my own hemp jewelry business and I recently got a website on etsy.com. One day when I was listening to CATS, I got a couple of ideas to remind me of the show.

These are the two I have so far if anyone is interested. I would love feedback or ideas to make more that maybe aren't as subtle. Other ideas for other shows are welcome too.

Jellicles are Black and White:

No offense intended, but to me this comes off as pushing for the sale of something that has pretty much nothing to do with Cats. I can see the (minor) affiliation witht he second one, but the first one is just stripey... And black and white stripes have been around for a long time without anyone calling them 'jellicle'.

But hey, on the other hand, great concept. Your marketting strategum may pull in plenty of people who otherwise wouldn't have cared.

Don't strain yourself to compliment her if you really don't mean it. She said it was “CATS INSPIRED jewelry” so there's no need for you to be so rude to her.

“CATS INSPIRED” means exactly that, that this is HER INTERPRITATION of CATS. So what if it doesn't look like the traditional CATS stuff we're use to seeing, that's what makes them so charming. I have the Tiger Stripes and Leopard Spots design and I think it's very nice. In fact if I can find a blouse to wear with my skirt in the morning then I'm going to wear it to church tomorrow. (Other wise I'll have to wait till next week to wear it.)

But just b/c you don't see the inspiration doesn't mean that the rest of us don't so try thinking before you comment next time.

Thanks Tigress. I never intended to start any drama, so this is all I am going to post.

I am not trying to push anything, and I never said it was directly CATS related....the show gave me ideas for my designs. I may not be great at drawing or doing fanfiction, but making jewelry is what I am good at. It may not mean something to everyone, but it means something to me- just like fan art or fiction has meaning to someone else. I assumed most people would skip this post, but I do have a few friends here and it was a way to get some feedback and ideas.

So please...no more fighting.

You're welcome hon.

Claws In Please

Number One - the title has O/T - signifying Off Topic.

Number Two - "CATS Inspired" meaning that although the item may not actually represent CATS in any way shape or form, it reminds Reeza of a Silver Tabby and a Leopard spotted cat...

Number Three - Let us not go ballistic on everything that is said...

Reeza? -no problem with me... Unless someone has a burr in the fur, you can always blue button it, or PM me...

I would like to point out that all I actually said was that I dont see how it correlates, but that it's a great marketting strategy. *raises an eyebrow* Would you like me to edit it and say how wonderful they are instead? The pieces themselves are very pretty.

Would complimenting them as well make it acceptable to say that Reeza's personal interpretation is one I can't really relate to? *shrugs* If I'm out of line, I'm sorry... But since I didn't actually say anything that could be construed as an attack, I dont think it's fair to even mention the word "fighting".

I can tell why you don't relate it to the Cats show Flitterbug. However I don't think it's as simple as a marketing strategy... I could have pianted a full sheet of paper with black and white stripes, or yellow and orange stripes or event with splotches and stripes and I could make an album of modern art paintings and place names from the musical, this would also have been Cats inspired. Because it's the musical or other things who give you inspiration to do stuff... People relate stuff in different ways and it's not always with the purpose of attracting people but more to satisfy an inner feeling...

Always thinking on the commercial side of things....*sighs*

I just think you got wrong on Reeza's main intention Flitterbug, probably her intention wasn't purely commercial. She was just thinking of a name to her creations, how do you think of names? by linking ideas in you head... that's how I see it.

But I saw your intention was not the one to offend anyone.

PS: by the way, I really like some of the jewlery. Not the rastafarian...because I'm not into that mood, nor the skulls either... I like the hearts because they have that psychedelic markings inside. And I also like how you combine the colours. If you were a friend in town I'd probably ask you to build me something and buy it, I did with a friend of mine because I like handmade jewlery. But it's just the shipping costs...etc that prevent me to buy many creations that people do in here. I'd love to have a small painting from Michaela Oloffsson, AK Larsson, Ahdeya or even Roller Boy...however it's just the high costs...sorry

I think they are very nice! If I could, I would buy one for my Girlfriend who loves Anything that has even the remotest relation to Cats! Keep up the good work!

I really like those and I thought of certain characters when I saw them!

Also I saw your other jewelry and they are wonderful! Very Happy

You could try making a "Macavity Claw" necklace. That would be uber cool! Very Happy
