CATS in Auckland

Hi all, I'm going to see CATS in the Civic theatre in a while (don't know the date yet, my dad's boss is shouting us). What should I expect? The only other ALW show I've been to is Phantom (Twice at the end of last year, in the Civic)

Nothing like Phantom what so ever (and way better if you ask me).

Hard to describe. I would say youtube is your friend. Cool

Hooray for Youtube!
My trumpet teacher/band conductor (Who doesn't actually play trumpet very well, but makes up for it by being EPIC Trombone player(He played Bass Tbone on Les Mis when it was in NZ/AU)) said he might be able to get me into the pit, so I'm hoping!

Just be aware that Phantom was a full-blown professional production, with the massive $$$$ to spend - this production of Cats is non-professional. That's not to say that it won't be fantastic, because I know a couple of the cast and I know it'll be amazing, but perhaps don't quite expect the production values of Phantom!

It really is the talent that makes or breaks Cats, rather than budget. Look at the original costumes; so much simpler, but still very effective with the right cast/designer.

I'm hoping to join the Harlequin at some point, as a musician.
I'm looking forward to the show.
