Heavens, I am Sooooo excited. I am going, on May 12 at the matinee performance. You will find me in my finalized Mungojerrie Costume, my friend Megan in her Stupendous Rumpleteazer costume, and my friend Tessa in her sister's Bombalurina costume.

Oddly enough, I'd say there definately is another way to see it... Some people don't feel comfortable or like they're being respectful if they go in costume or in makeup. I'm one of them. When I saw it last (in 2004), I was going to go in makeup with two of my friends (so Rahlee could easily recognise us), but I chickened out. I also didn't see anyone in costume when I went, either time.

Now, if I'd made an amazing costume, it may be different... but being in costume would draw an aweful lot of attention to a person, and some people just don't like all that attention.

I'll leave the dressing up to Rocky Horror, I think... I just feel more appropriate.

Or perhaps if I were in a large group doing it (see Vannycats), I'd probably go along with it... but never alone.


That was just a bit of my thoughts on dressing up for the show... I'm not going to the So.Cal show or anything *lives wayyyyy to far away*

VTWC, Liz, and Jellylorum from this forum, and the CATS Costume Forums will also be there at the Matinee, on May 12, at 2pm!

We are going as ME (Bombalurina), Liz (not sure yet) and Jellyorum (Demeter)! Please PM me or email me about details. Thats awesome, we should have some GREAT group photos, and maybe even visit the cast before and after the show!

Have no shame in going to see Cats in costume alone. I have done it three times, but follow ettiquette rules and procedures should you do so. Also you don't have to go in costume like Nemi said, it all depends on the person.

i will advise you to be careful, though. have several of my best friends on several of the last troika tours (as well as the new one going out), the house manager has actually had to ask audience "cats" who were sitting in the front to move to other seats because they were distracting....so just be respectful...i have had people see my show in costume and it doesn't bother me that much, but it's a lot of effort....

I've sat relativly close, but it was on the sides next to the speakers so it wasn't as distracting if I was in the exact center. But how were the audience Cats acting? Were they behaving like any member of the audience or trying to be part of the show?

trying to be part of the show aka singing out loud and dancing all crazy in your seat is a complete NO! The cast wont appreciate it. They like you if you're a good kitten and sit there in costume. If a fan acts all crazy and tries to be part of the show, then they'll think you're psyco and most likely wont pay attention to you. Cats ettiquette is VERY important. When I saw it at the pantages there were a few people who were drawing attention to themselves and I wanted nothing more than to throw them off the balcony. It was just REALLY effing rude...oh and if anyone plans to sit next to me I have a few things to ask: Don't touch me or talk to me when misto is on....that pretty much covers it.

heavens! I wouldn't do anything like that especially me being a theater kid adn a performer myself.

Unfortunately, i will no longer be attending on saturday but....
