Does anyone have any idea where and when the US tour auditions? or who to contact? I heard it was non-equity, dont know if thats true. But Id lay out the money if I could get a part.

ugh...I need to audition >.o I know I sing better than alot of the people I saw in the videos of the tour. Someone please...if you know when and where to audition. I would love to know

I know the casting director. They are lacking in men at the moment. However! Don't expect to survive the audition without sufficient dance technique. Unless you're attending the singer call, then it shouldn't be too bad. The dancer call will be brutal if you don't have good, solid technique.

errr well...im a really good singer and actor. Dance I have really good energy and I guess you could call it dynamics in dance....what kinda stuff do they expect for the dancing auditions? Like I me...I cant do a "conjuring turn" if thats what they want

Let's put it this way: how long have you taken ballet or jazz?
When people say "I can move well," it's not what their looking for.
But also, I don't think it's exactly fair to assume you can do something "better" than the people in the tours. Maybe your voice sounds different, but not necessarliy better. I'm not trying to claw you out, just pointing that out.

Sorry, maybe I should have been more clear about what I said before. In the video I have seen of the tour a certain big character cracked....BAD...and it wasnt a hard or high note either and it made me a little angry. I should have been more clear about that sometimes I can be an overly confident cat but atleast I know it XD

The non-equity, Troika tour is STILL touring and will be doing so for quite some time, according to the casting director. I think that's a credible source.

there are a few roles that don't require much dance. For most roles you will need a lot of dance of dance training. Even if you don't get a role it's still a very useful experience. Break a leg!

Thanks! Well it looks like I have half a year to work my ass off anyway. Ive done plenty of major dance shows, just not ones this professional, and a few courses and classes of dance, but if I practice dance as much as I do singing and dancing I might be OK...hopefully Anyway! Im gonna be getting to work XD Hope to see you from the stage!

I have searched every website under the sun, and I cannot find any dates or locations for an upcoming audition for a CATS tour...you said that the Troika tour might be going for a while from what you heard. PLEASE help me by telling me where an audition will be. I have wanted to perform in CATS since I was 5, and have trained in singing and dance since. I am a senior in college finishing up a dance performance degree, so I have the training I just really need help finding an audition. Does anyone know something that might help?

Dude, touring is HARD, and they go on even when they're sick and/or injured sometimes because they don't always have enough people to cover. Go try doing that show at least 8 times a week for a year, and see if you ALWAYS sound your best. It's not easy to stay top notch on a show that hard for that long. [/rant]

That said, watch backstage.com for the auditions. If you're gong to go, go to a singer call, since you say you're not a dancer. If you're not a "dancer dancer" it's going to be really hard on you to try a dancer call.[/i]
