I was watching "American Dad" last night and they had a Cats reference.

Haley, an animals' rights activist, was housing some monkeys in and her live in alien Roger, who switched roles with the father as the breadwinner in the family, said the monkeys were rehearsing for the first all monket cast of Cats and in six weeks in would be the best production yet.
After the commerical they had "Memory" playing and monkets screeching with Roger yelling at them.

I was watching that last night, kinda, and I laughed my butt off with that quote.

"I'll have the best all monkey production of CATS ever!" or something like that. Funny funny.

The funniest thing just happened....I was sitting on the couch trying to calm my nerves by watching "The Simpsons" (my callback for Rumpelteazer at a local theater is in about an hour...eek!), and Bart was watching an Itchy and Scratchy cartoon. Scratchy is walking down the street and sees a "CATS" marquee. He says, "that sounds like just the show for me!" and walks in as you hear the familiar music playing. Then it shows this cat onstage who says "Two-tone Terry is a curious cat; he went to see the queen in a velveteen hat." Then Scratchy rolls his eyes and says "Awww, this is sooo boring!" and shoots himself, while the lady sitting next to him shushes him! While I may not agree with Scratchy, it was quite ironic and just what I needed to help me relax!

Roger is definitely a high point on that show. I still enjoy it and all, but it will never compare to the comic genius of Family Guy.
