Cat's MakeupFor my University's May Day carnival, my musical theatre company has a stall, and we are doing fancy dress from different musicals. A few people are doing "A Funny Thing Happened ont he Way to the Forum", others are doing "Grease", but me and 2 friends (lucy and Kathy) want to do Cats. Having performed it before, we have most of the costume and accessories (collars, tails etc). However! The makeup artist who painted us up for the show left the University recently, and we don't have an email address for him. So I was wondering, does anyone know a good supplier (UK preferably) of good makeup, that won't melt off in the sun, and will last about 8 hours? And, does anyone have basic makeup plans for the following Jellicles; Mungojerrie Rumpleteazer Victoria (plain white, I know...but more detailed I assume) The Rum Tum Tugger Coricopat Tantomile Thankyou ^^ |

Well, what we've had luck with before is just Snazaroo water-based, but set with a very hi-tech and expensive makeup sealer - Extra hold hairspray... What Uni are you at? One thing that sucks about going to a drama school- there's no sort of drama society, no-one just doing it for fun! |

Bradford, height of class I know! But, it has England's most prestigious archaeology department, so I take the bad with the good!
And hairspray, woo! And Snazaroo, I can get that easily! Cheers |

I don't have makeup charts for those characters, but I have a CATS makeup gallery (Masquerading) that has pictures of quite a few of those, from many angles, that will maybe help you out?
Wish I knew about makeup brands in the UK. Though Ben Nye is good, and Alcone carries the cream liners and will ship there. *nods* Link to alcone is on my page, under links. Good luck with the project. Sounds very very cool. =) |

I wouldn't use Snazaroo, because it will run if you sweat at all (even set with powder). 8 hours in the sun sounds like a recipie for disaster. |

I have used ben nye and got stuck in the rain and still been fine with just a couple touch ups. I have also used it for at least 8 hours at a time. Should work fine but I would still suggest buying a bucket of there sweat proof powder. It works well. | ||

Yeah, Ben Nye is fantastic that way. I've had it last through showers, time in the swimming pool, sleeping through it....
And you aren't required to spend loads on the special powder, either. Regular baby powder works just fine. The purpose of the powder is to set the makeup - since it's a creme, it doesn't try on it's own. The powder gets pressed into it and makes it 'dry', and helps it to hold together better. Really awesome stuff. |

Very True. Alot of our Cats used just baby powder!
P.S. I and many others used Liquid Eye Liner for the the black likes to make them pop and also it doesn't get mixed in with youre other colors. Some also just used the black ben nye cream base with an angle brush. |
