Casting?Hey everyone. I'm helping to cast this play for a small, local company. Auditions have already been held and I think we've got it figured out who we're giving each part to, but I've got a quick question. The girl we're probably casting as Rosie has a wonderful voice (strong, good tones, etc.) but she can't dance. Is there any way we can get around the Shriner's Ballet? Or any of the other dancing involved. She'll be able to do little things in Spanish Rose, but only the basics. Thanks!

hi...i have done this show before, am currently auditioning for it again, and have also seen it performed several times, so i am very familar with the show...from my experience, Rosie should be a fairly skilled dancer, as in all the productions i have seen she dances in Spanish Rose, Rosie, Shriners Ballet, and a little in other spots throoughout the show...if the girl that you are thinking about now is excellent in both her acting and singing, but cant dance, then maybe you should go with her...but if you have other girls who can sing, act, and dance ( maybe not as strongly as the other girl), you should consider them as well; it would really help to have someone with at least some dance background...just go with your instincts and let me know which way you go
