Cast NamesWhat do you guys think of when fangirls merge together Elphie and Glinda's names like Brangelina etc?
I was on Youtube and here are what people say:
Idina and Kristin: Chenzel.
Idina and Helen: Dallinzel.
Glinda and Elphaba: Gelphie.
Kerry and Helen: Kelen.
Megan and Sho: Sholty.
Megan and Eden: Hiltonosa.
Talk about random or what?

It made me think of "ohmigod" (Legally BLonde), theo nly one I sort of the think is ok is the Chenzel one, but still, come on, fan girls are way too excited these days.

I find this trend to be terribly rude and insulting to the actresses involved. When you have a celebrity couple who are presenting themselves to the media as a single entity, maybe it's understandable. but it is completely inappropriate for actresses in Wicked, who are just normal people doing a job. Respect them enough to use their names! PLEASE!

I think they are fun!
It's extremely common to combine names like that. A lot of people do it for Fan Fiction or just fandom for a certain couple. I don't think it's insulting.

I like and use the term "chenzel" for Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth performing together but I don't like or use any of the others. I consider myself a "chenzel" fan, but also an Idina Menzel fan and Kristin Chenoweth fan (seperately). Using the term "chenzel" kinda merges them down into one performer. If you know what I mean. But of course, I like them both as seperate performers also.

I think saying Chenzel or another name merger in THIS case, means that you enjoy their work as a duo. You like the chemistry between the two actors.

I think it's very rude for this reason you mentioned. It's implying that they're a couple when they're not. Some 11-year old is going to stumble on these names, freak out and tell all the Wickie-boppers she knows "Liek, OMG, Kristin and Idina are in love with each other!!!" That's how rumors begin.

I'm not bashing 11-year olds in general. In fact, I think 11-year olds are a lot smarter than most of us think they are. But there are some rabid Wicked fans out there who don't use their brains at all...

I don't really think it's insulting. i think it's just talking about their performance as a pair, like a double act. I dont think people will see it as "ZOMG, theyre liek loverzzzz" if thats what happens then surely people would have said pairs like ant and dec are together.
