Well first of all, are you an alto or soprano? Cassie hits some high notes, and Diana some low ones.

Speaking of Cassie vs. Diana - why in the stage show does Diana sing "What I Did For Love"? I have the script, but it seems so random for her to sing it. Makes sense when Cassie sings it in the film, over the loss of Zach.

It is about her love for dance, and she is joined in singing it by the rest of the company

as for the cassie/diana debate, yah, you really have to think about which character you're more fit for before choosing which would be more fun. if you're more of a soprano that's a VERY skilled dancer, i'd go for cassie...her songs are lighter and she really needs to shine ("you're too good for the chorus...") however, diana's more of a darker singer, more on the lower mezzo/alto side. she also needs to be a strong dancer (like every other role in the the show! ), but she doesn't need to POP like cassie ought to.

Well, I was Diana in 'A Chorus Line," so speaking from experience it was great. Even though Music and The mirror is great...once you geet into it Nothing is so much fun and you can really do a lot with the song.
