CarouselHello! I have been looking through the post on this website, and I have noticed that quite a few of you have listed that you've played 'Carrie Pipperidge' in your signatures. My High School is doing Carousel for the musical this year. I really want the part of Carrie and I was wondering if any of you had pointers for my audition. (like speaking and ways to sing)
I am also going to try out for Nettie and the Star Keeper.
If you have any pointers please send them my way!
Thanks in advance!!

The starkeeper was a female in the revival, I believe. They combined the starkeeper and heavenly friend into one female character, and Dr. Seldon was seperate.

I don't think it matters what the star keeper's gender is. If I was directing the show, I'd consider/have to cast for lack of guys a female.

I have the programme right in front of me and the Starkeeper/Dr Seldon was definitely a man and the Heavenly Friend was a woman. The Starkeeper can't be a woman because of the way Billy says (about Dr Seldon), "He reminds me of that Starkeeper fellow up there."

At my school, we have much more female chorus students than men. Auditions are only open to Chorus students, my teacher (whos directed Carousel before). That the star keeper and heavenly friend are morphed into one for our version. And male or female's could audition for the part. Thank you to anyone who attemped to anwser my question.
