Can anyone help me please, I need to find about 200 words from Harry Potter book encapsulating what it is all about, the magic in paticular. It is to be read out during a concert to introduce a section about magic in film and tv.

However I personally don't know the books so have no idea where to start looking.

Can anyone suggest a section from one of the books, that could be used? I think a description would work well, rather than a chunk of dialogue, and any mention of spells/magic would be great.

I'd actually suggest something from one of the later books. Unfortunately, those are the ones that are big and expensive and aren't always available in paperback, but they are great books. The last page of the sixth book is pretty powerful, albiet a bit short and very dark. Another chapter from the first book I would reccomend is the one where Harry is on a broomstick for the first time. Any time when Harry is playing Quiddich (the game on brooms) is a good time to describe magic.

The last page of the 6th book (aka ... And The Half Blood Prince) says nothing at all about magic.

Yeah, it's good reading though. It's definitely the most emotional part of all the books, though.

Don't get set me off on a Harry Potter arguement. Please. You WILL regret it.
