That was so fast!
Do you have any recommendations about specific insurance companies? Like which ones are good and reputable and which ones are shady?
I'm mostly looking at United and Assurant. And I'm specifically looking at short term emergency health insurance while I'm unemployed.
Wait, is it health insurance tha tyou deal in, or is it car insurance?

Side note: if DaddyDiesel happens to not know about insurance available in the city or works with car insurance ( ), we get a ton of magazines about insurance and stuff at work. I recall reading one article about the cheapest plans in the area, Ill check if any are available in the city for you.

Well when you throw my name in the title of the thread it is tough to miss it.
I deal in all kinds of insurance. Health insurance being one. Its kind of Ironic. The day an actor asks me about any other kind of insurance, besides health I will probably pee my pants. Actor/actresses tend to always ask health insurance questions when they figure out what my "clark kent" job is. but I digress.
As to good companies that are out there would depend where you are currently looking. Im from minnesota so I tend to hear a lot about Bluecross BS, Preffered one (current company i am with and work with), and United. Things I hear about Blue cross blue shield vary. I believe its a well established company But you tend to here a lot of complaints. But complaints are tricky. It is somtimes difficult to tell the difference between truth and sheer pissed off negligence. United is also a well established company. I do not here many complaints besides the typical ones. I did look up there website right now to see what would be included in there plan. But they are pretty good about not saying what they cover on the open internet. Which is pretty much like every company out there. I have heard the name assurant come up before but cant remember anything about them.
So really I dont think I helped you at all. I would say before you choose see if you can get an outline of coverage. Some companys might call it the Coverages and exclusions. Read through very carefully what is covered and what is excluded in both the policy's. I am always wary of a company that uses one liners like "We worry about your insurance so you dont have to." or "We will cover 95% of all your health costs." Somtimes its the 5% of exlusions that can screw a person over. I remember an actor friend of mine that broke her leg in class to find that 95% of the emergency room fees were covered. BUt 0% of the the cast, crutches, xrays, ambulance fees, and physical therapy was covered. Granted she had a super cheap monthly payment. She thought she had all that coverage. BUt when she looked back at her policy it did say that those fees were excluded. I wanted to drop kick her agent for not explaining the coverages before buying.
I will be the first guy to admit Helath insurance is the most difficult and annoying of all insurance policys. So any other help I can give you I would be happy to.
So hopefully that helped you. Since we are on a question asking theme I have a question for you. I am working with a Semi professional theatre company for the first time. My role is chorus. I usually never really worry about my appearance. Minus the 45 lbs I lost a thank you. But my hair is getting super long and was wondering if I should speak to the director about the possibility of getting it cut. I have started learning some taboos in the semi professional world and dont know if this is one or not.

But GOOD crazy! | No worries Jazzy, I have been crazy busy myself. Between leaving for work at 6:00 am and not getting home from rehersal till 1130pm I have been a little distracted. I am working on a reply here shortly. A lot of advancments in the story. Possibly good but most likely invetibly bad.

Daddy - ALWAYS talk to the director before you change your hair. Did you sign a contract saying you wouldn't alter your appearance unless you spoke to someone first? If you signed a contract, that was probably in there. Ask.
And Mr Diesel, would you mind giving me your opinions on the 3 plans I'm looking at? I know I may be asking too much, and you can freely say no marymag i really don't feel like it. And I'll understand. But you are too nice for words sometimes and I feel like you may be willing to help me out some more. Am I right? Pretty pretty please?
And let's hear some more how your first pro show is going!

What three plans are you looking at? I saw United and Assurant but not a third. I do not mind helping out at all.
As for my show it is great. I have never workeed with a group that is so demanding and focussed. Its been a while since I have in the chorus and have it be quite challenging. It is a nice change of pace from community theatre. Not to mention its my first "rated R" show. Will rated R in comparison to my resume. We signed a bunch of waivors early on but i dont think it was a contract. I think the lack of contract thing is what makes them semi pro. But I dont really know. I Kind of thought it was a taboo to change an appearance i will definently ask him tonight.
