Cabaret (revival version) pics

Here's a link to pictures of my community theater's production of Cabaret.

However, we were doing the much darker revival version. This version is also not legal to do right now. We bought the rights for the normal version, and used a bootleg videotape of the revival version to fill in the new songs and dialogue. Did we get away with it? Heck no! We received a cease and desist order the day after we opened. Can't get away with nothin'. But the revival version is AMAZING. I will also add that we didn't change EVERYTHING... we only took out 'mein herr' and 'maybe this time'. Everything else we kept. Ha ha! We're bad!

if you took out mein herr and maybe this time... what are these from?

the production looks really good. Your Emcee looks exactly like Alan Cumming in a bunch of the shots, it's pretty scary. I like the dirty and dark feel it seems to have. But what is the hands up thingy that they're doing in I think the engagement party? And who did you play?

That production looks pretty kick-ars for community... I loooove the Emcee! Wink

the two pics are from exactly those songs. (the pics were taken at a dress rehearsal before we got in trouble.) the hands up thingy during the engagement party was pretty strange choreography, i thought. we put them up abruptly the first time the Nazi guy (i have since forgotten the character's name) says the word 'jew.'

i played fritzie, who got champagne bottles lost up her cooter. my parents were proud. i'm in the front row on the right, the one with the short, slicked white hair in this pic:

Thank you SO much. That made me smile.

Your production looks SO fabulous. Your Sally looks a tad like Stephanie D'Abruzzo.

You removed Maybe This Time and Mein Herr? They're probably my favourite Cabaret songs!
MaryMag

We didn't want to remove them, we had to remove them. We were given a cease and desist order cuz we didn't actually have the rights to the revival version.
what_the_heck013

That production looks really good. Sorry you guys got in a trouble.
What company holds the performance rights to Cabaret?
RainbowJude

TamsWitmark hold the rights. The original and revised (1987) versions are available for performance.

the recent revival verison is not available yet-i am waiting impatiently. Many productions like to add and switch songs from all the different versions and movies. all highly illegal but rarely get caught, sorry marymag

The guy in picture #17 might be the most gorgeous thing I've ever seen in my life.

And the creepy make-up really works for him.
Jud

Amazing. I had no idea that the new revival version was not available yet.

Two years ago, my mom was involved in a production which was unmistakably the revival version. It was absolutely fantastic. So glad they didn't get caught.
Bobby Strong

Tams-Witmark has the rights for cabaret...that sucks! Probably a bitter person who didn't get cast called them- that's theway it always happens.

great pics! Those guys are HOT!! Very Happy
