[Ulla Dance Again!]

Heeeeeey everybody! I think it's about time this section has its own little forum cast, so what do you say?

I've asked permission and it's okay, so without further adieu....

CABARET - FORUM CAST - 2007!

Like with the other forum casts, you will have to write out an application [nothing too tedious, I promise]. After everyone fills them out and post their responses here, the nomination/voting period will begin.

You'll have have until January 22nd to get your applications in [so I can put people under their respective part they're interested in - as you see I have done with my name], and then shortly after the voting shall commense.

Why do you want these role[s]? I played Helga in a revue, and I'm nice and small (5'1" and 95 lbs.), so I work very well for the whole 'Baby' line. Also, I can be very, very, very, very, very, very bad.

Why do you want these role[s]? Helga: Helga is obviously the most innocent one in the show. Undoubtably a virgin, this we know. So, she occasionally gets into trouble and has to be spanked, but don't we all have to be spanked once in a while? I know I do. Helga and I were sepreated at birth. Spanks to those of who don't vote for me. (Or whatever.)
Rosie: I have very Rosie cheeks. And I love LuLu. (Which is the name of my friends cat.)

I've been dancing for most of my life. I got that down, mind you!

THis is the first forum cast that I've auditioned for. I'm exited. Yay!

Why do you want these role[s]? Despite looking like this innocent girl, I've got a wild side. I'm prone to carefree decadent decisions, and sometimes I do act before I think about what I'm doing, and it gets me into trouble. I think I would do well in this role because I am capable of wide-range belting heard throughout Sally's numbers in the show, and I believe I can dance well enough to pull the role off. That's all I can think of at the moment.

Why do you want these role[s]? I love the way Cliff works as a character. He's really genuine and he really falls for Sally and is so heartbroken when Sally doesn't want to leave Berlin and has an abortion. Plus he's got great songs I love to sing!

Why do you want these role[s]? Not only is sally a dream role and one of the great leading roles for woen in musical thetre. she embodies the free spirit that many people need. she is reckless,but quite charming, sexy but with a dark side. I have many of her qualities and I feel its a perfect match for me. I am experienced in Brechtian theatre and Cabaret is in many way a homage to Brecht.

Reason: I think that the Emcee is such a funny role. Whenever I listen to the recording, I laugh during the opening number. He's a comedian. That's what I do. I'm always out there making people laugh. I have always wanted to play the Emcee, and a forum cast would be a start.

I was cast as the Beast in BatB and Benny in RENT, so I didn't think this should be a problem!

wow. have you misinterpreted Emcee. in the original script he is far from funny. he is more of a Brechtian plot device always around always watching.

Anyways;

I think Alan Cumming sums it up pretty well;

"The emcee in this production is the overseer of the whole show and not just the club. The atmosphere of the evening is very much of his making. He's down and dirty. He's come from the streets and he brings the streets with him. My take is that he's a drug addict. You can see the track marks on his body from the drugs. And as the play progresses, with the rise of facism, the emcee gets more and more debauched."

I'm sorry, guys, but I am going to postpone this. I have to. I can no longer come here and check in with this project as much as I would like. In a way, I've lost an interest in this place as a whole. It's nothing against any of you personally, so please don't be offended. I need the time right now to do well in this semester at school so I can move on to better things.

If anyone else wants to apply for the remaining parts, fine -- do it. Right now it's open ended, so just please be patient.

Like I said before, I cannot come and check in as much as I had hoped for when I first started this.
