What is your opinion of Che's interlude during 'Buenos Aires' - a good part of the mood of the song or something fully random and unconnected that would be better off cut?

Personally I love it...but that's possibly just because of how Mandy Patinkin does it.

I love Che's speech in the song.

In the production I did in February, I played a sleasy newsboy... who was looking at Eva the whole time. Che came over and bought a newspaper from me. He read the speech to one of the dancers (who was more interested in the score of the polo match). He then threw the paper back at me and walked off.

I think the speech is great. I'm not sure about the revised version that Matt Tawle did in London Last year. Unfortunately, it's not on CD, but I have seen it on YouTube.
