Broadway musicals and availability in early Jan

Hi,

My wife will be in NYC on Tuesday and Thursday (Jan 8 and 10) and wanted to go watch something spectacular on broadway (I know she will dig Chicago or Phantom..). But since she is on a budget she wanted to try her luck with student rush tickets (30 dollars max).

Does anyone know if weekdays (tuesday and thursday) are easier in terms of finding rush tickets? Which current musicals are offering rush?

Any general suggestions welcome.

Tuesday and Thursday should be pretty easy days for tkts or rush!
I'm not sure which shows are offering, though.

How do you get rush tickets? at the box office i'm guessing, but i just wanted to know because i might be able to go to NYC for spring break this year (i'm crossing my fingers!)

I really want to see spring awakening, that's pretty much the reason why i want to go so bad, to be able to see the OBC before they leave, even though gallagher already did...

Spring Awakening is playing at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre and they offer student rush tickets, $25 per ticket with valid student ID. You might want to call the Eugene O'Neill Theatre to ask about their rush ticket policy. Some theatres make rush tickets available 3 hrs before the show starts and some when box office opens earlier in the day.

I went to see 'Rent' at the Netherlander earlier in Jan and got lottery tickets ($20 each). Lottery was held 2 hours before show started. Most theatres have their rush/lottery policy displayed outside box office but a telephone call should do the trick too.

Good luck!

Tickets seem to be easy to get right now, with the weather being so damn cold. Even Wicked didn't sell out last week. Nothing did, actually.
