Broadway Jr.

Just out of curiosity: when you've been in the Broadway Jr. shows how old were the other kids in it?
They seem like they're supposed to be for little kids, but the two I've been in has also had older kids. When I was in "Aladdin Jr," the guy who played Jafar was 18-years-old, I believe. There were also really little kids in "Aladdin," too; one of the kids in the choras was really young, like 4 or 5 years old.

Once on this Island Jr. we had students that were anywhere from 6 to 18. I was 13 and turned 14 over the course of the performances.

Honk Jr. we had kids from I think 4 to 18, and our Ugly was an adult. I was 14, almost 15.

I'm doing 'Guy and Dolls Jr.' with 3rd through 5th graders.

It states in the Broadway Jr contract that all cast members MUST be under the age of 18. I believe the only exception is the teacher in School House Rock: Live! Jr. It says that he can be played by an adult if it works better, but they're very clear that he's the only role this can be applied to.

Well I know our middle school shows are all Jr., and only 7-8 grades are allowed to participate, but I HAVE heard of 16 & 17 yr olds doing Jr. shows in the community.

While we're on this topic, what's everyone's favorite B'way Jr. recording? Personally, I think the voices on the Godspell one are the most talented. In regardless though, I HATE how there's only about 6 people, whose voices are duplicated over and over again. Bugs the ---- out of, and sounds completely robotic. Just a side not Wink

Our children's/youth theatre is doing Aladdin Jr this summer and I soooo want to be the genie!! My teacher says she's totally fine with the genie being a girl, so yee-haw!!
Right. Anyway, the people on the Guys and Dolls Jr. Recording KILL ME. I hate them with a burning passion.
When I did Into the Woods Jr, it was people from 5th-9th grade; I was in 8th, but the kid's theatre is doing Willy Wonka Jr. and I think that Mrs. Gloop is in 7th grade, Willy Wonka is in 9th grade and Mrs. Beauregarde is in 10th, but they're the exceptions; everyone else is from kindergarten to fourth grade.

I've only heard two of them so far: Aladdin and Pirates of Penzance. Neither of them bothered me, but out of thos two I like Pirates better
