boys...I am auditioning for Boys from Syracuse in February. I've been trying to do some research on the show and I am just having a really hard time finding information on this show. I know there are 2 sets of twins(boys) and 3 leading ladies. (Adriana, Luciana, and Luce.) My question is...who is the Cortisan? Also, any other information or links to info. on this show would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance |

The CourtesanThe courtesan could be described as 'a typical good-time girl who would secretly like to settle down'. She is one of the several woman in the show who is confused by separate encounters with each of the twins. For more information, you could start by looking at The Boys from Syracuse at Rodgers and Hammerstein Theatricals. But it's also amazing what you can find by doing a basic search on Google. Later days David |

OOH! I'm playing the Courtesan right now! A "courtesan" is a polite term for prostitute. Antipholous of Ephesus is one of her regular clients. And she gets as confused as everyone else does about the mix-up, especially near the end of the musical. There's also usually a chorus of courtesans (though there's only one other in our production, because we have practically no theatre interest at my school). She also has a kickass song called "Oh Diogenes." Hope I helped! |
