Did you use tricks to get the bottles to stay on the hats (some people use velcro) or did you actually use balance alone?

no tricks.
no gimmicks.

our choreographer insisted on the real thing.
our director was impartial.
and our costume designer designed something for us to use and wanted us to use it.
but we didn't.
