I love that show, but I don't really have a favorite. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this show based on ALW's UK version for Sound of Music? | ||

I totally wish I got home in time to see it! if they do show clips can someone post it to Youtube? or post links to anyone that does...I have no recording devices at this time. |

Yes, How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria was on this past year in search for the Maria for the London Revival. You're the One That I Want is a good show. I have to admit, it's not the smartest way to cast a show, but it's fantastic for money! I'm wondering, though... in the case of The Sound of Music Revival in London (it's just a co-incidence that it happened with this show), the man who played Captain von Trapp was pulled out of the show during previews because he wasn't talented enough. Throughout the Grease series, they have been saying how risky it is, but can't the producers pull out any cast member at the drop of a hat? If Sandy and Danny are really that bad, just toss them and get some professionals in! 
The other thing is, it's really not even that risky for this (and the above) reason: anybody who is in the finals now could pull off the roles. Obviously, some are better than others, but they all have enough to do it. That's what I didn't understand about the riskiness. It's exactly like an audition process, except cameras are watching throughout, and when they get to the final four (???) America votes. So basically if you can narrow it down to four, you obviously think that each of them could pull it off - it's just a matter of who can pull it off better than the other person, so what's the big deal?? Just a thought. [/rant] |

here in the UK they are currently audiitoning for the UK version of YTOTIW as well as another show called 'Any Dream Will Do'
