So, auditions were today and they went well. I had to sing "Put on a Happy Face" and I must say that I nailed it! Overall, I gave a really strong audition, so we'll see what happens! Call backs are on Wednesday and the cast list should be posted either Thursday or Friday. If the directors base their decisions on the auditions, I should be at the top of the list. I've heard this from a variety of friends who watched the auditions. I'm definatley not self-absorbed and arragent. I actually thought I didn't do too great, but that was because I was tired from my three performances of Kiss Me Kate Thanksgiving weekend! Anyway, we don't really audition for a certain role. We just audition and they plave you where they want to. However, I am hoping to get either Albert or Mr. MacAfee. There's quite a bit of competition between the gentlemen this year, lol, so we'll see how it goes. If all else fails, I am a sophomore and have two years after this, so I still have my chance at a large role. So, I'll be sure to keep posting here with updates. Thanks for replying everyone! I appreciate it!

Today (Wednesday), the call-back list was posted and I was on it. I was really eager to go to call-backs so when school was finally over, I ran down to the auditorium! The directors said they really wanted to see acting today, so we had to do a scene between Hugo and Kim (the scene right before One Boy). That went very well until the director said, "What we really need is a Conrad Birdie, so lets see it!" We had to sing One Last Kiss. I was terrified! Don't get me wrong, I could sing the song, but performing it as Birdie to a group of screaming girls watching me...I don't think so! I really didn't want to be Conrad and the directors knew that. I'm not really the Conrad type. I don't really feel comfortable being onstage swinging my hips like there was no tomorrow and having girls go wild over me! Maybe it's from a low self-image, but I cannot picture girls going crazy over me! But, I think the directors were happy that I gave it a try and yes, I swung my hips as best as I could! Anyway, I'm really hoping that I either get Albert or Mr. MacAfee! We won't know tomorrow, but the cast list will be posted Friday morning! I can't wait! I will keep posting and if my nightmare comes true, I'll be venting sometime this weekend on here. At least I have a second weekend of Kiss me Kate to look forward to if I don't get the role I'm aiming for!
I hope you all found this amusing I know I probably would if I was reading something like this! I'll post this weekend with the results! Until next time....

Hi everyone. So, I'm in school right now and saw the cast list this morning. I didn't get the part I wanted. Surprisingly, I am Harvey Johnson. I don't really know much about the character and can't really say I'm not dissapointed. Another kid in my grade, he competes with me in grades and the musical, got Albert and I know he will never let me forget it. I have mixed feelings right now because I don't understand why I didn't get a larger role (Albert or Mr. MacAfee). My third choice was Hugo, but a freshman who switched from stage crew to cast got Hugo. Is Hugo a bigger role than Harvey? I really want to know more about Harvey before I speak to the directors about their decision. I'm not complaining, actually, they want you to talk to them if you are disapointed, I just want to know what i can do to do better next year. I had a knock-out audition, so I'm confused why I didn't get a better role. Anyway, I intend to make the best of it and know it will still be a lot of fun!
Again, if anyone can tell me more about Harvey, please let me know!
Thanks everyone. I'll keep posting here throughout our production if anyone is interested.

Harvey is the nerdy kid in Telephone Hour ("hello mrs.something, is blahblah home from school yet?" and so on), depending on cast size they'll probably plunk you in where needed

Aw, I'm sorry you didn't get the part you wanted; I definitely feel for you. I think everyone on this website probably knows how you feel in one way or another. Congrats on getting Harvey though, it seems like a pretty fun part. Hope you still have a blast with your show, despite the disappointment.

Thanks everyone. Yesterday, when I got home from school quite dissapointed, I got a phone call from my director! She asked me if I would be the student director/production assistant for the show! I was really excited that she picked me! (This made me feel a little better.) She also said that since I'm student directing, I would know all of the blocking, lines, songs, so I get to be the understudy. I told her I was dissapointed with my role, but she tried to make me feel better by telling me that I would be in all the chorus numbers, at the train station, in the Shriner's Ballet, etc. I already knew this, but I felt better hearing her say it. The director also said that, "Oh, we have bigger plans for you in the future, don't worry. We're thinking of you." So, this year wasn't my year, but I still have two years left! We'll see what happens!
