beyond the "FIERCE"....

So, at least at my school, MTs are known for running around calling things "fierce", encouraging people to "do it", and more recently, to "belt their faces." Also, when an MT is pleased, he doesn't say "yes!", he says "YEHHHHs!". I'm not sure where it comes from, but apparently its the same other places too. I have a friend at CMU who says its basically the same there.

Now we're transitioning into "famous." Someone gets cast in a national tour. "yehhhs! FAME-ous!"
Some find it obnoxious. It can get that way, but mostly it's just endearing.

What are the catch phrases in your theatre group/school/cast/whatever?

"Got a light?"

AND

"Check out my mangina!"

I've never checked out an MT school that hasn't overused the word "fierce".

SOOOO annoying. They ruin such a good word.

The theatre world just plays copycat to dance on words. Fierce was started in the dance world...it soon became fius, and now is something else which I am not even going to say because i think it is ridiculous and no reason for it to catch on.
