better to go for one or all?Hey! I am auditioning for Into the Woods. VERY EXCITED. But I can't decide what character I want to audition for- LRR, Cinderella, BW, or the Witch. So... do you think it is better to tailor the audition to one of the characters or to keep my options more open? I was worried that if I pick a great song for one of the characters it might limit me to being considered just for that role. On the other hand, I don't think its even possible to do a song that would be perfect for ALL the characters- they are just all so different. So any opinions?

Perfect? no. Close? I bet you can find something. If you think you're one of the best, Heck yeah, go for the Witch and the Baker's Wife. Almost there, but not the most popular person in the drama department, go for ALL OF THEM, but if you're not expecting miracles, I'd say pick a spectacular audition piece and go for LRR and Cinderella, never know, they might give you the witch or BW anyway.
GOOD LUCK!

Well the all have very different vocal ranges and styles...what are you? If you are an alto, for example, you won't be likely to get Cinderella because she is a soprano...
Also how old are? Little Red is supposed to be a young girl-teens...The Witch should be older, Cinderella the second oldest and the BW somewhere in between Cindy and the Witch.
So what is your vocal range? You should probably try and figure out from there what two or three characters are best suited to your voice type and look...
Also, is this a highschool show?!
I would be glad to try and put in my advice but I need a little more info first

Hey thanks for the swift responses! Well, it is a professional non-equity company that is doing the show. I am 25, 5 ft 2, blonde and kinda petite. I look young. But I have played Aldonza and a lot of other stuff that is not really considered ingenue. My voice type has always been hard for me to explain. My range is F3-D6 (I can hit an E6- but it doesn't sound that great) I can sing in musical theatre belt style, musical theatre soprano and opera. But I like my middle range the best- that's where I naturally want to go. I really can't decide- I've always been a character actress trapped in an ingenue's body- and all of them are such great characters!

You sound like me with that one...
I'd say try for Little Red or Cinderella...Little Red is a GREAT character role and since you are on the smaller side it would definitely be an awesome role for you...Cinderella is great because she has her moments of funny and you sound like you have the looks for her...
Have you considered Rapunzel at all? She is a very awesome role (that sadly, I was robbed of this year...I was cast as Rapunzel and they cancelled the show *sigh*) She has some very fun moments and very sad ones...she's a great character to explore and you definitely have to be a strong singer to play the part.
