Better for auditions...

Okay...

That wonderful time had come where I choose a new song to have prepared in case any last minute auditions pop up. So I have been going through lists of shows I have never been in and love the music from...What better show then "My Fair Lady"?!?!

I'm a soprano 1 and have a decent range. My voice is a bit on the "flutier side" as my teacher says. The two songs I am looking at are "Without You" and "Show Me" (I am not limited to these, just prefer them), and was wondering if anyone here can give me any help.

Which song would be better for an audition (ANY audition, not for "My Fair Lady")? Any help would be much appreciated!

Without You is a good entergetic song, it shows a prety good range. Sometimes this song might be good for auditions if your character has some sort of dialect or a really strong personality. Show me also has a good range. It also makes you enunciate when you talk fast. It is good for directors to know that your lines will be understood. I think both songs are great. It really depends on what part you are trying out for. Best of Luck!

"Show Me" is quick and lots of fun to sing. It repeats itself a couple of times, so it's not hard to learn.
