Best way to keep your voice fresh ~ shows 4 nights in a rowMy daughter has the role of Fred in OUAM (3rd through 7th grade production) - She's almost 10.
This is her second year in this theatre camp and now has the lead role. She has had no formal voice/singing/dancing/acting lessons and I'm concerned about her straining her voice. I've heard her practice and she can be quite loud!
The productions are 4 nights in a row. What can she do each night after the show that will help her preserve her vocal range for the next show? I certainly don't want her voice to crack during the show, even though the role of Fred is supposed to be funny.
Should she take a spoonful of honey each night, suck on peppermints or ice, or just NOT TALK the entire next day?
And advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Water. No milk(or any dairy products at all!), no soda, no juice, just WATER! I cannot stress this enough.
No whispering or yelling(outside of pratice). Actually, being mute outside pratices and shows would be a good idea too.
Lemon juice helps too.

she starts to feel a little hoarse, gargling warm salt water is really great. It tastes terrible but it helps

You could always indulge the dreadful hot vinegar water... YUCK! My chorale teacher used to make us do that if our voices were in bad shape.
Also! CLEAR VOICE spray! It is fantastic! Almost addicting, but it helps
