best part for me?okay well get this.. im in year 10 this year, and thats officially at our school when you can get lead parts...
but mostly the 11s and 12s get the lead parts.
in all the other school musicals i have been involved as much as possible to show my teacher how i can do my best, when most of my other competitors for parts havnt, they just want leads "just coz" and plus musical theatre is what i love..
im a girl, and im really interested in going for hope or bonnie.
im average height, pretty good actress, average or above dancer(had lessons for years, but not lately), average or above singer. i take singing lessons, and my teacher is mainly a musical theatre singing teacher (she knows her stuff) and she thinks ide be great as hope, but hope doesnt seem as interesting.. but i think i have more of a chance of getting her..
and i really enjoy playing those over the top characters like erma/bonnie, and think it would beawesome fun especially because i love "buddie beware" but i also love hopes "goodbye little dream" and i can sing it much better
hopes a go?
btw, i realllllly love musical theatre and my drama teacher/director knows it (were friends of facebook and we talk about it heaps)
well.. thanks heaps
musical theatre is the BEST...
thanks![/b]

Hmmm, that's tough. A few questions:
Does your voice teacher think you'd be great as only Hope? How does she feel about you as Bonnie?
Do you think you'd put more into the show as Bonnie than you would as Hope because you're more passionate about Bonnie's character?
Is it possible that you could audition for Bonnie but get called back for Hope (since you seem more physically suited for her)?

I don't know if you auditioned yet, but the best advice I could give you is research everything, practice everything, think about all of the parts in the show, because you might think you can only do Hope or Bonnie/Erma, but your director might think differently. I know because I just auditioned for the same show, I really wanted to be Billy at first because it requires a lot of vocal chops, but I wasn't sure about the other roles. Then our director, before the auditions said something very important to us, that sometimes it's not just the talent, but the look that they need, and other things, so you really got to keep your mind open for anything. And that's what I did, so when auditions came, I tried my hardest with everything, and in the end I got Evelyn, an awesome principal role! So basically the moral is, be prepared for anything and give your all into every part that they have you read for, because you might find out that you are fit for something else, and even if you end up getting the part that you saw fit for you, it doesn't hurt to try extremely hard for everything anyway, because that shows that you are a dedicated actor and you will work hard in any role, which will make your director more eager to cast you over someone else. and lastly BREAK A LEG!!!!!!!!!

i think im definetly going to audition for bonnie (damn we are doing the 60s one grr!!)
besides theres a girl in the year above me who is def going to get hope.. she is so suited to her its not funny and shes SUCH a huge favourite of my drama teacher... and basicly nobody is auditioning for bonnie because shes only supporting..
heaven hop sounds like a alright song, its pretty cool, but i liked buddie beware better.. and i had practiced it for my singing lessons!!
anyway, auditions arent for another 2 or 3 weeks so its all cool. any more ideas or hints are cool! please, keep them coming!
