Beauty and the Buzzkill Jr.They for sure cut:
No Matter What
Me
A Change in Me
If I Can't Love Her
Wow. The best songs in the show.

Wow. They cut every single one of my favorite songs in the show. How disappointing. I'm assuming they also cut all of the dance breaks?

I will freaking murder them. I listened to that song like crack while I was in the show.

So, it's just the movie onstage now?
I'm not surprised though. Although I did think they'd cut out the mob scene and fight and just have the beast dying of depression and Belle comes back after A Change in Me.

I second that. The show's been over for three months and I still listen to it like crack.

The Mob Song is still in.

That is unholy, end of story. "If I Can't Love Her" makes the show what it is.

The omission of "If I Can't Love Her" really surprised me too!
But after mulling over it for a while, I think they might have cut it because Jr. shows are normally for middle school and they might of thought it would be hard to find a middle school boy who can handle the song. No offence to any middle school boys, I'm just thinking biologically that it's a difficult age for a young boy's voice.

Well, the Jr.'s are for kids pre-teens to perform. They're all severly cut down. Not many people at 10 - 14 could belt out songs like those, especially without damaging their voices.

Pssh, "If I Can't Love Her" isn't too much of a challenge. I could own the song last year, and I SUCKED last year (I was 8th grade last year).
Speaking of which, I haven't sung it in a while...I'll have to see how I do now.

1. Ditto.
2. What the hell is the point of BATB Jr.? Isn't it already a Disney show? How much more family-friendly can you make it? MTI rated it G. I don't understand the point of this. asdfghjkl.
Carry on.

As much as I hate junior shows, I'm thankful for them. My school has a small auditorium/gym/cafeteria so we don't have enough room for an orchestra. On top of that, the school band isn't the greatest. We also have a tight budget, so if it weren't for these shows we wouldn't be able to put on musicals.

Because the Jr shows make it easier for children to perform, not understand/take in. BATB is a full-length musical with complicated harmonies. Beauty Jr is 60-80 minutes, with easier songs and dialogue, making it easier for schools and youth groups.

And, if I can remember correctly, they're less expensive therefore giving schools and youth groups the ability to introduce children to theatre without breaking their budget.

Well I might be auditioning for this sometime soon in the coming year. I'd love to be The Beast or even Gaston or Lefou but I think the company's opening it up to 9th-12th graders. MTI prohibits that in the licensing though, right?

It's fine, as long as they are under the age of 18. The exeption is for School House Rock Live! Jr., where the teacher may be played by an adult, upon request.

Yeah I'm in middle school and we were gonna do the jr version but MTI sent us both so we did the regular one (cutting the song Me because our Gaston sucked) But holy god could our beast handle the song iIf I Can't Love Her and he's only 12 and in 7th grade!! And I ewas able to do A Change in Me as a 13 year old and 8th grader with no problem! Those songs should not have been cut. Middle school kids are very capable and underestimated! Hehe.

They sent both to you? That doesn't sound right.

Oh God.
That was my second middle school musical (first as a student) and it was just...blah. Terrible experience. It was the last "real" musical my middle school has done though and that was over three years ago...not a fun experience at ALL. I was an ensemble member, and since I was still a boy soprano, I was forced to sing the girl part.

I just think you really don't know what you are talking about.
The movie came out way before the musical.
It won awards, and then disney was like
'Hey, let's add a few songs to this and put it on stage!'
....then they needed to water it down for elementary/middle school/small schools so that they could do musicals too, and did.
