Battle of witsThere are times when I keep wondering whether Anna or the King has won the battle of wits throughout the whole show. For me, I'm more inclined to think that Anna has won, as she was able to use her willpower to stop the King from caning Tuptim with his whip. I could sense that she was also able to use her willpower to induce Chulalongkorn to repeal the law of bowing to the King. However, something tells me that perhaps the King in some ways has won, in that he was able to induce Anna to stay on. In both cases, I feel that perhaps it was a pyrrhic victory, because Anna's relationship with the King suffered, and because the King died at the end of the show.
