Bare: A Pop Opera Audition.

Hello!
I have an audition for Bare: A Pop Opera on March 30th and I need some help picking a song.

Originally I was going to sing "All That's Known" from Spring Awakening, but it's too popular right now. So does anyone else have suggestions?

I am a (second) tenor aiming for the role of Peter, but will take anything, since I'm absolutely in love with the show. Also, I realize that since I am underage, that may cost me the role. But whatever!

Any song suggestions would be great!

ThankS!

Have a look at Chess, Godspell, The Life, Aida, The Fix....and other rock/pop musicals that are modern, so were written 1970's and more recent.

How old are you/what do you mean "underage"?

Also, are you very familiar with the score and have you sung through Peter's songs? He goes incredibly high sometimes and is out of the range of a second tenor.

I'm 16 years old.
I know the music like the back of my hand.
After some intense warm ups I can sing it.

Ahh okay. Sixteen isn\'t THAT bad - really, Peter and Jason are 17-18, and Peter\'s character is much more demure and a dreamer, so having him be a little younger wouldn\'t be a big issue.

The range thing could be worrisome - but as long as it doesn\'t sound like you\'re straining yourself, you should be fine. The thing with Peter is, he should have a gorgeous voice; a pretty (though strong) tenor is pretty much a requirement. Jason can be more edgy vocally, but Peter needs to just exude innocence.

And PS, it\'s just called bare now. Lame, I know. It makes finding it on YouTube impossible.
