BAKERS WIFE?????????

ok i am auditioning for the junior version for my school and was planning on auditioning for lil red. But I am slowing changing my mind and am thinking Baker's Wife. I'm just having troube getting the whole essence of a character and i dont have many audition techniques. Any help would be greatly appreaciated! thanx!

well the reason is that the baker's wife is such a complex role that no one should ever have licensed an "ITW Jr." the whole 2nd act is gone which is the whole point of the show.

I'd avoid the jr. version its crap. its only thre first act.

Baker's Wife is not only the greatest female role in musical theatre. its also the hardest.

Into the Woods Jr. was created by Sondheim himself.

Are we forgetting Night Music and Forum( sorry, I'd been meaning to get that out for a while)?

what?? ALNM IS A BRILLIANT SHOW. AND fORUM IS ONE OF THE FUNNIEST MUSICALS EVER WRITTEN.

ALNM is a subtle mastrpiece. witty, clever, emotional and oh so perfect.

I had a CD of ALNM one of my best friend's copied for me, but alas, it doesn't work!

sigh.

ITW Jr. could have been the first musical I was in...but sadly, it wasn't because the drama club ages changed.

I have yet to see it Sad
music is my life!!!

www.mtishows.com

click on that. then it'll pop up and give you a menu of sister sites. click on the broadway junior section. click on audition central or something, then the show. you show notice the descriptions, script exerts and songs.

you can also look on the main website.

i think you should know that junior isn't half as good as the real thing and - ok, the baker's wife is just a wife of a baker who wants to help but (unlike the witch) your best songs (unlike moments in the woods) and funny bits aren't that cut. the witch's part is mearly a onesided badguy in the jr version.

why can't you go for red and the bw?

they really contrast plus you'll stand a better chance of being cast!

You might be too young for Night Music. Or at least you should have been burned by a great love at least once. Once that happens I don't see how anyone, straight or gay, cannot feel both Fredrik and Desiree's pain.

Well, I'm nineteen; do you consider that to be too young?

It could be. I mean emotional youth. You have to have been burned in love to really get this show.

If you have been burned and still dont like it well there is just something wrong with you.
