Audrey's Black eye

I was wondering if anyone happened to know how to create a realistic black eye for Auidrey's first few scenes. This information would be very helpful, thank you.

Give her a genuine one and use make-up to cover it up for the rest of the show?

Sorry, I heard something about charcoal but I imagine that'd be difficult to get off.

!

Er ... have her wear an eye patch?

Isn't there something you can get from joke shops that gives the appearance of a black eye?

I agree that charcol can be difficult to get off, and an eye patch is just too campy, even for Little shop. Does anyone know how to make the black eye with makeup? Any specific colors of eyeshadow and techniques for putting it on?

You could use a combination of eye shadows that come off easily. Try purple and blue and maybe brown mixed together and see how it looks. Very Happy

ya i used eyeshadows and it worked very well..so try that.

Do you have a theatrical supply shop in town? They should have some make-up (like Ben-Nye) that would work. In productions I've been in, we used a blue/black grease-paint type stuff. It wipes off very easily, and if applied with a natural sea-sponge, looks real. Youcould also blend some blue, black, and purple eyeshadow with a little vaseline so you can wipe it right off. Good luck.

All good suggestions above. (Except for maybe the one about actually giving her one.) JK Anyway, you have to remember when she got hit. It was probably just the night before when we see her the first time. Typically, when you are hit in the eye it can be up to 36-48 hours before it starts to turn black and blue. Usually when trauma happens to the skin and breaks blood vessels, (that's a bruise), it remains red for quite some time. The best suggestion, google image search black eye. See what turns up. Experiment with different colors and techniques. Probably the best way to apply is with a make-up sponge that you have torn to give it a rough edge, or a stipple sponge. Hope it helps.

Ok- well I was Audrey and I used eye shadow, black, brown, blue, etc. all mized together. I used an angle brush to put it on, and put it slightly under my eye, kinda going up the side. I used baby wipes to take it off- and it came off SO easy. Plus it looked pretty realistic which was good

I just happen to be a stage make-up expert...If you don't have a kit (Ben-Nye is the best) eye shadow works great. Put desired bruise colors ( blue, purple, brown, green, etc., but NOT yellow...goes on last) in the space under browbone and above end of natural bag under eye (eye socket, pretty much). Don't go above or below these boundaries. Start with one color and sponge above and below eye lids-very small amount. Put next color on top of this and, gently, add more and more colors, spreading out from middle spot. make a circle around last color. Lastly, apply the yellow. It sounds like it wouldn't fit, but it does. Don't drown it in yellow, however, just have a layer. Hope this helps... Smile

Also she can't wear an eye patch as Seymour asks her if its maeup. Not even he coud think an eye patch is makeup.

It's probably a little late, but some red dabbed around it with a sponge very lightly would be a nice touch. Very few black eyes are just black, brown, or purple.
