So this is where I will contain all my freakouts over Fiddler. It's my high school show and I'm a freshman, so half of my mind wants to show them how amazing freshmen can be and the other half is telling me to prepare for ensemble.

Thankfully, the former currently has victory.

Anywho, My auditions are Wednesday and Thursday. Wednesday we sing- and I'm not too sure if its a selection from all three songs (Far From the Home I Love, Anatevka, and Matchmaker for the girls) or if we get to pick one. I've heard mixed news.

Thursday there's a simple dance combo and we do a monologue from the three they gave us. (I started a thread about those in the audition forum, if anyone's bored/interested). I'm more nervous about that day.

And callbacks are Friday, but I won't go there yet.

Yet another reason I find these people very silly:

A junior posted this on another person's facebook:
"But was it just me or were there freshmen on that callback list? So unfair, when I was a freshman (and even when I was a sophmore) there were never more than like, 2 or 3 underclassmen on the callback list for musicals. On the upside, they'll take at least one junior, and I only have three girls in my grade to compete with. "

Its apparently unfair that I'm called back at all. I do enjoy going against their perceived "system". And they HAVE to take a junior.

Eek. I feel your pain. I'm so bad at waiting for cast lists. My friend was over once when I was waiting for a list, and I think I scared her.

I got "Gossiping Woman". According to my sources, she has a few lines and talks right before the wedding scene. I think I'm one of two freshman girls with speaking/solo parts (with a cast upwards of 60 )- and I get to be in all the fun chorus numbers!

Congrats! I think a small speaking part is one of the best places to be, actually. Glory, but no pressure.

So maybe this is a little out of date, but I've been reflecting on this for the past week. (wow...it was just over a week. Felt like ages ago.)

And I'm damn happy about what I got. Looking over the list, I see the names of tons of people that don't have what I have. The whole thing just makes me feel more reassured in my talent and I am going to go into this show with full force to show them how well I can and will do in the future.

(Yeah, that sounded preachy. Its late, forgive me.)
