Auditioning Soon; Need to Pick a SongMy girlfriend swears by this site, so I thought it worth a try to get opinions on good options for audition songs.A nearby community theatre is having auditions for Fiddler on the Roof, and I think it would be fun to do a show again. I'm most likely interested in (and have some shot at) Perchik. Naturally, I'd love to do Tevye (or Lazar Wolf), but there are likely to be older and better-qualified people for those. Some background on me:
Shows I've done (several years back):
I've seen a smattering of other shows, such as Guys and Dolls, Les Misérables, and South Pacific. Can't remember others at present. Any suggestions on good audition songs for this show? I've been suggested "This Nearly was Mine" from South Pacific (which I don't remember, even after listening to it on YouTube...) and "Lonely Town" from On the Town. |

If you're auditioning for Perchik, and the director wants something Fiddler, "Now I Have Everything" would be the natural choice. For non-Fiddler, try "Standing On The Corner", from The Most Happy Fella; see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MKK4N14zNOA
