My school's winter musical is Beauty and the Beast. Apparently, the director is going to tell us what the audition song is as soon as we get to the audition, then teach it to us. I'm a little worried, because I don't know 100% what I'll be singing: all I know is that it'll be a song from the show.
Does anyone else's school do this? And do you think I should be looking at ensemble music? Or maybe some of Belles parts?

I know that might not have been clear, but I'm getting a little concerned...

If you don't know what the song is going to be, there's nothing you can really do. Just listen to the Cast Recording and be generally familiar with it, but don't try to memorize the whole thing. You'll be fine.

my school does the EXACT same thing. Our audition songs were

For General Audition: "Beauty and the Beast"

For Boys Audition: "Be Our Guest"

For Girls Who Want to be Considered as Belle: "Home"


Another popular audition song for girls is "A Change in Me" Because its not very well known.

I suggest to just get a general idea of the music, and you'll be fine.
