Audition tomorrow! So it occured to me to post this much too late...but hey, maybe I'll get a reply or two anyway
My high school's having auditions for Pippin tomorrow - I'm going for the Leading Player, since it's opened up to both genders.
Our director assigns songs for each character to sing, and the Leading Player is doing "Simple Joys." I know a lot of people have decided to audition - probably because we have a lot of altos (or people who don't sing and think it'll be easiest) around this summer.
So, I really need to stand out if I want to have any chance at all. Can anyone give suggestions as to how to really act this? I'm fairly familiar with the character and the show, but MdNers always give awesome suggestions.

I would definently dance to the song while your doing the song cause not that many people will do that in an audition. And if they know you can dance that will defintanly give you an advantage. Also be kind of flirty with the song that will make it more fun.

We have a dance audition seperately, so they'll be able to tell I can dance through that (luckily!) - though I definitely have movement planned for the song I'm so horrible with blocking so I'm not sure how exactly I could dance in it...
Thank you!

Well, my audition went horribly, haha. But so few people auditioned for this show that, well, everyone got cast. I'm in the ensemble, though.
