So, I am auditioning for belle, and have 16 bars to do so. I am thinking of doing the song "Spark of Creation" from Children of Eden, or even "Stranger to the rain" from the same show. I think both songs nod to belle's spark and strength, as well as show a great vocal range and chance to belt. what do you think?

Also, more importantly, are these songs too hard for an accompianist to play?

here are the bars i'm trying to choose between:(if you can cut it better, PLEASE HELP!)
Spark of creation -

Stranger to the rain:

so, what do you all think. any suggestions or comments. PLEASE HELP. thanks a bunch

so I also had the idea of doing 16 bars from either "follow your heart" or "i see a river" from urinetown.
This audition is going to be very big and I am afraid most people will audition with the same songs (astonishing, colors of the wind, somewhere thats green, etc). so I want to do a song where I can stand out and show some emotion. I connect a lot with the song spark of creation, and I think it parallels belles dreams for "something more" in a lot of ways. I dont know though. 16 bars is not a lot. they said we are not required to do a song from the show, but i guess that could be another option as well. I just really dont want to blend in and be forgotten. can anybody help?!?

I wouldn't do Urinetown. Not really appropriate. If you know it, do something from Anastasia, very Belle. "Stranger to the rain" - not a fan at all of that musical's score (including "Spark of creation") but it could work if you make sure it's such with a Bellesque quality. Not too belty, keep a lyrical, light tone to it. Do what feels most YOU and make sure you give it 150% when you perform and think of the lyrics, be truthful and in the moment.

Did you end up making the show? I'm in chorus. I really just wanted to be part of the company so I am VERY excited about the show.
