Hi all,
I'm very new to this audition business, and have been reading all the posts regarding ettiquette etc. so I now know what to wear and what NOT to sing lol. However, I'm struggling to find songs which will be suitable in this audition.
The audition is for an amateur production of Peter Pan the musical at Preston Guild Hall. The audition consists of two songs (both unaccompanied!!), one ballad and one upbeat. Can anybody suggest any good songs, not obvious ones preferably, as I like to hold my own rather than being compared to everybody else!

First of all, welcome to the boards!

If you look at the "Audition Thread Sticky?" at the top of this auditions forum, the first few pages have some really great suggestions of songs to sing...

If you still don't see anything you like on that list, it's usually best to post up in that thread, as things get answered pretty quickly up there!

Good information to include in your post so that we can better help you is roles that you have played in the past and songs that you think you sing well/are currently in your rep...

Thanks very much for your help! I did have a little look at that post, but didn't read it all the way through. In the past, I have been mostly in the ensemble, but a couple of musicals I have been in are Joseph (as a wife) and Jesus Christ Superstar and loved them both. The song I usually sing is Could We Start Again Please from JCS, but I think this is a little low for me at some points. Can anyone suggest something a little higher (sorry, I'm not very technical so I'm not really sure what voice type I am). Also, if anyone could suggest what type I might be, that would really help.
At the music and drama youth group I attended until aged 17, I was always in the high group, and when I had singing lessons, was told I could sing top A (but I know I couldn't get it comfortably).
Sorry, I know this all sounds very pathetic and "newbie"ish lol.

What other songs do you think you can sing well? (Since parts of what you've done onstage go a bit low for you...)

Also, I honestly wouldn't know your type because I don't know you personally...I'm sure you understand!

Yes, that's completely understandable!! I have made a bit of a shortlist, but they aren't the only ones I can sing. Can anybody suggest any others please? I really need some help with the upbeat ones, because I'm not overly keen on either of the songs!!
