Hi, all!!!

I am going to be auditioning for a community theater production of "Into the Woods" in about a month. I would like to be Little Red or maybe the Witch. I am a solid alto/mezzo. Any suggestions for an audition song?

I have been in musical theater productions before, but this will be my first audition in this city so I will not have the aid of anyone knowing me from my past work. But I can hold my own. I most recently was the narrator for a production of "Joseph and the........"

Well, I had to audition with I Know Things Now(It's a requirement to do a character's song) but you know what would be cute? That little song Veruca Salt(Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) sang in the orginal verison of the movie when she wanted the goose that laid golden eggs. I Want it Now. She's an awful lot like Red and it might work.

Another song that could be cute for Little Red would be "My New Philosophy" from You're...Charlie Brown. Although it wouldn't be good for the Witch...I would pick something funny/sarcastic like but not too child like- something that could go for the witch orrr Little Red...if you want either one

I have the sheet music for I want It Now too. Its in a book of all the songs from the movie. Google it, you'll ind it. Fun song, i did it when i was younger back in the day and wanted to useit for a recent audition but my voice has changed and it was different music. So I ended up using the good ship lollypop, but it was for yagmcb. But have fun. little red and bakers wife are my two favorite roles ill never play!
