audition song trouble!!!okayyy, so i'm new here so i hope this works.
i am trying out for jekyll and hyde at my local broadway dinner theatre and i really need an audition song to pretty much guarantee me the role of lucy. i've wanted the opportunity to play lucy for so long and it is one of my dream roles. i can belt, and pretty high might i add, and i've already sang all of her songs so i'm good with those but i'm having trouble finding a song, err, 16 bars of a song, that shows i can belt high, sing decently high in my headvoice, and also kind of portrays lucy's character to push the directors in that direction.
i am in a production of miss saigon at my high school right now, as ellen, and i was thinking of singing part of "now that i've seen her" for this upcoming audition, for those who know the music, the part that goes
"now that i've seen her i know why he lied. and i think, it was better when i didn't know... in her eyes, in her voice, in the heat that filled the air, part of him still lingered there. i know what pain her life today must be. but if it all comes down to her or me, i don't care, i swear i'll fight."
it's more than 16 bars (like around 23) but it seems like a good idea to me. i just need opinions on if that's good or not or any other song suggestions. pleaseeeeeeeeeee && thank you.
