I've been fighting over picking an audition song because of what everyone has been telling me. Singasondheim song. Pick one that's easy for the accompnmist. Singa song you feel comfortable with. Don't sing something that's toooverdone. But sing something they might know.

After going through all that, I thought about singing "I'd Rather Be Sailing"

I'm trying out for anything, but I'd like Cinderella or the Baker's Wife. Opinions please?

My only problem with that is that some directors do not like gender benders, so a risk is there regarding that. Besides that though, sounds good.

I actually didn't know it was a man's song until just recently. The first time I heard it sung was by a woman. ^^
