Hi,
i have an audition coming up for BATB next month (high school play)
The director is known for picking a song from the show for the auditions (we don't know which) but for last years musical she did pick a song from that show that most people were familiar with.
Basically, i want to practice, and have been but i honestly dont know which song ill have to preform.
I was thinking be our guest or beauty and the beast, because those are famous, but they are both lower and not sung by belle.
So i dont know.
any guesses?

well, it proabably won't be "Gaston" or "Me", and probably not "If I can't love Her"... I'd be very familiar with "Belle", "Be Our Guest", "Human Again" and "Something There".
But, really it shouldn't be too painful to listen to the whole recording/all songs, should it?

thats what i figured.
do you think it would be beauty and the beast?
thats famous, but its all mrs. potts so it really would limit not only vocally (Belle generally sings higher) but character wise too.
would probably make it hard to cast!?

Maybe...
I would guess they would stay away from the 'solo' songs and do group songs for a general audition, but that's only a guess!
If you're auditioning for Belle, be familiar with everything.
If for Mrs. Potts, group songs and the title song.
If an object, with all the group songs I listed before.
If it was me doing it this way, I'd have everyone sing something like part of "Be Our Guest" or "Human Again", then have candidates for main parts sing their solo songs.
