audition song helpthis is kinda a weird request,but i'm lookin for an audition song upbeat or a ballad that show off my voice.im 13,so i dont want a song about love. i'm a mezzo and can belt.i would like it to be a song that is diffrent, somthing not overused. any suggestions?

When I was twelve to thirteen, I worked on a few belty songs in voice lessons.
It includes:
Amayzing Mayzie - Seussical
Defying Gravity - Wicked
Home - The Wiz
Lullaby of Broadway - 42nd Street
The Sound of Music - The Sound of Music
Maybe This Time - Cabaret
Shy - Once Upon a Mattress
For Good - Wicked (Elphaba's part)
And this song from Chess I think. I forgot it.
Probably all of those would be good. I don't know about "Maybe This Time". May not be best for a thirteen year old, but back then I only learned it because I really wanted to; the rest were songs my voice teacher picked out for me.

Oh I didn't realize it was an audition song.
I don't think Wicked is a good choice for auditions. So never mind that.

um i like Privilege to Pee from Urinetown.
However it might be too high

i like the idea of "home" from the wiz for a 13 year old. it would be very cute and age appropriate. good suggestion.

Out of these the only ones I think that would be ok for a 13 year old to sing would be Lullaby of broadway , sound of music (i suppose) and maybe shy. 13 is way to young to sing elphaba or cabaret or chess stuff. Home could work I suppose, but make sure you are singing it correctly or you can screw up your voice, cuz it gets up there. oh the one from seussical is fine. Maybe also from seussical is that Horton notice me or whataver it is called. just my two cents

don't do anything from 42nd street. wayyyy overdone.
try doing shy from OUAM. i love that song, it always makes everyone sound good (unless their voice is just downright wretched.)
