I looked through the past few pages of threads, and there are tons of audition threads but most are singing songs from the show or some such. I don't know exactly what I'll need for the auditions, but I'd like to look into songs I may use.

I'd love to be Hodel or Chava. I don't think I have the height for Tzeitel.

Any ideas?

I think that Hodel, Chava and Tzeitel can all be approx. the same height. It's that you don't want Sprintze or Bielke to overshoot thier sisters.

Well, I would like any of the three, but I am not even 5' 1" so the other two would likely be signficantly taller than me, so I would think my chances are slim unless I show up and everyone there is under five feet.

Anybody suggestions for songs? I almost feel like Fiddler stands in a class by itself musically. I can't think of any similar shows. Rodgers is too light and not exotic enough... any help?

I'm 5'1" and I was just cast as Tzeitel. Of the other four girls, Shprintze is closest to my height... and she's Asian. Hodel and Bielke both have a good seven inches on me, haha. So it all depends on your director, really!

As for audition songs, I was kind of stumped too because Fiddler has such a unique style. I ended up using Meadowlark from The Baker's Wife and got called back for pretty much every role but Fruma-Sarah. If you're going for one of the daughters, anything that's melodic and shows off your acting should work, as long as it's not too contemporary-sounding.
