I have an audition for a professional production of Pippin at the end of the month for the role of Theo. I haven't seen the show before and was wondering how big of a part is this and if he sings any songs, basically a synopsis of the charecter. Any help is appricated

Theo is the son of Catherine, Pippin's love interest. He is between the ages of 10 and 13. He is somewhat of a brat, but he deeply loves his duck, Otto. When his duck dies, he is completely distraught and looks to Pippin for guidance.

That's basically it.

There is also an altrenative ending in Pippin where Theo is supposed to be played by some 15-16.

Instead of the traditional ending were Catherine, Pippin, and Theo are left on stage hand and hand Catherine and Pippin walk away while Theo stays center stage and sings the chorus from "Corner of the Sky" once he is finished the players pounce on him and the lights go out implying he is their next "victim"

So the part can change depending on what ending they prefer.

I heard some one talking about this different ending, but when I worked on the show about a year ago, we didn't have any notes about an alternate ending. So I'm wondering where this came from? Was this just a vision of a particular director to change the ending and run with it, and it has caught on. Strange.

Theo is traditionally played in the age between 10-13.
