Audition Help... please?Okay, so I learn today that the big theatre in my smallish town is holding auditions for their upcoming season. Thing is- the auditions are on the 18th of this month! Ah! Too soon! Boys 5-15 (I'll be 15 in about 15 days, but I'm younger than I look.) are required to audition with a "Stephen Foster song or Broadway song."
This year, they are putting on Civil War and their original "Stephen Foster the Musical." I live in the town of "My Old Kentucky Home" so he's a huge deal here. All the songs from the show are Foster orginals.
So I need a song. I plan on using something from Broadway, and not Foster. Since they don't mention a monolouge, I want something that really allows me to act through the song. I'm a tenor with a pretty broad range, but I don't know what it exactly is, anymore.
Any help would be appriciated. I just need song suggestions here people, throw something out there!

What about something that a teenager would sing but still suits the show types you are auditioning for...like a song from Downriver?

Possible.
I was kinda' thinking "Mama Look Sharp," from 1776. What do you think about that?

Yes that could work.

Sweet. Does anyone know how old the couirer is in 1776? 'Cause I don't wanna' do anything that's not written for a character my age. It'll make me look... ignorant, imo.
